Die Ghul Show with DPRESSEDSOUL!:icondasghul:: Welcome to my humble show, :icondpressedsoul:!Do you enjoy being here? :icondpressedsoul:: Of course I do. I had a few drinks to give myself Dutch courage though. :icondasghul:: That sounds interesting! :iconinterestingplz: Tell us more about how you prepared for this glorious moment, please – future participants will be thankful! :icondpressedsoul:: Well, you know, I'm a simple guy from Germany. I only need a few beers to get in the right mood. :icondasghul:: Cool. We'll get along. Art. Your opinion. Now. :icondpressedsoul:: A most intangible, abstract term, undefinable, and hence very useful for provoking discussions, arguments and shitstorms. Also useful as an excuse for almost everything. :icondasghul:: Alright, so let's try this another way… Do you personally prefer discussions, arguments, shitstorms, or excuses? :icondpressedsoul:: Actually, I'm just here to enjoy the show. Competitive Actuation 001 - Final resultDear members, watchers and friends :iconcoffeedanceplz:now our little adventure of organizing our first contest comes to it's end and I'm proud to present you the winners. As written in the contest description the winners were choosen by a combination (50/50) of the votes of polls and the votes from the jury. This to be as fair as possible. I know there are many ways to get votes in polls. And a result of this mixed voting is, that we have had a split decision for the third place and consequently two third places. But now enough . Here are our wonderful winners :icon1stplaceplz:*funkichkn -----------------------------------------------------------------:icon2ndplaceplz:=altergromit -----------------------------------------------------------------:icon3rdplaceplz:*hotarox-x:thumb35893480

Five In FiveReflecting upon my art school days recently, a thought popped into my head...a rarity. I was thinking back to how we were instructed in Life Drawing 101 to do gesture drawings within a short period of time. Basically, it is a method of training hands to quickly sketch what the brain has already seen. Staying "focused" means sustained concentration. Once you start drawing you can't stop because there's only a minute or two to finish! With that practice in mind I figured it would be a good exercise for photography as well. Too often I hear people say they have "writer's block" when it comes to finding something to photograph. So five photographs in five minutes seemed to me to be a good motivational exercise for one to do when down in the creativity dumps. Because of the short time frame it sharpens the mind's eye to produce, on deadline, something…anything. All in an effort to get the creative adrenaline pumping again. Its not about creating the next Mona Lisa…its about producing
