Urban Abstraction #2 by DpressedSoul Urban Abstraction #2 by DpressedSoul
I hardly need to abstract things, for each object is unreal enough already.

This is a nice series, Florian. There's something interesting about the scale of this one, that window is much bigger than I expected it to be from the thumbnail. Good shot!

Actually, it was even bigger (to the top) than I could catch with my little camera. :)

I personally like the "graphicality" of this shot, also the backlight through the window and how it reveals a bit of what's going on behind the stained glass.

Glad that you like it, Richard. Thanks a lot!

I've always been interested in taking photos of doors, windows or similar. They make interesting subjects, because you can discover them on several levels - there's usually a lot going on in front of them, on their surface and behind. Certainly a theme of my photography that I'll never get tired of. :)

I enjoy seeing it from your view. I tried this a few times but I only end up with snapshots that don't look like anything more than a door. I suppose like anything it takes time to develop the eye for such things. But I'm from a generation that wants instant gratification and so we give up real quick if we don't get what we want right away. Or maybe its an American thing

Actually, this was a snapshot because the other guys had already moved on. :giggle:

Not sure if it's an American thing, I'm also most impatiently about my own work and easily discouraged (mostly by myself, I'm my worst critic ).
