Seems I Lost My World by DpressedSoul Seems I Lost My World by DpressedSoul
My prospects have become less promising
I find it hard to believe in anything
Seems I lost my world and so I lost my faith
And I can't go back to where I've been
A brand new day
It can't get worse
Hear myself say
It can't get worse

(Katatonia, The Future of Speech)

Walchensee, Oberbayern (Germany...or should I say: Bavaria?)

(The best part of taking this photo was that we went swimming in this clear mountain lake afterwards, while it was raining. :aww:)

monochrome and grain are a match made in heaven.originally the grain suggested that found in a newspaper which enhanced it's sense of immediacy. grain can also act like fog and soften details creating more of an emotive effect, the fact that mono has stripped out the colour info automatically produces a graphic effect. however we still need to have something to say with our image we cannot just rely on the effect to bring us fame and fortune.
i find your lost world believeable.

Thank you very much for your thoughtful comment. Actually, I used the grain to emphasize the uncertainty in this image, or let it "act like fog" as you said.

Glad that the picture works for you.

near and far comes to my mind, the layers of clouds seemingly wrap the view, yet unfold a beauty which would otherwise be hidden to the eye.

It's about an uncertain and ambivalent feeling...yearning for leaving a certain place and wishing to stay at the same time. Undecidedness, unsureness, an uncertain fear of consequences.
