There is an eternal landscape, a geography of the soul;
we search for its outlines all our lives.

(Josephine Hart, Irish writer)

Não acredito na paisagem. / I don't believe in the landscape.
(Fernando Pessoa, Portuguese poet and writer)

Taken in my hometown Bad Arolsen (Germany).

Very, very nice job on this piece here. I was looking for artworks to critique, and this one jumped off the screen, it stood out among the others. The impact of this piece is strong, even from a minimized view. Looking at it closer only intensifies that impact.
You made the right choice it making it a black and white picture, because you can get a mood right away. While a color version would still be nice, this piece creates a setting and tone that comes from the brains of authors. This looks like the kind of place a famous author might use as a setting for a story, especially one with a gloomy and/or dark tone.
I love the way the background is blended, that makes the foreground pop even more.
All in all, very nice work.

Beautiful place. I love the contrast of the focused and blurred areas. And those trees are lovely. Nice shot. (:

Taken in my hometown... :) Very glad to hear that! Btw, I haven't done the editing here, it's *livetoregret's work - I recommend you to visit her gallery as well! :thumbsup:

I'm glad that you like it, my dear! :heart:
She did a great editing here, you're right: It looks almost like a miniature,
although you have a great view from this point, almost up to 40 kilometers away.

Yeah, and the "geography"... We all are still searching, aren't we?
